I was one of two programmers during this project. I programmed the core game loop. This was one of my first large projects and by far the most complex project i had made at the time. I was most proud of the weight system used for randomising events. This was dynamic and could be influenced by player stats.
I was lead writer during this project. I took inspiration from Fallout for the tone. It was fairly dark but had moments of black comedy, particularly in regards to the robot Henry ZAX who was often comedic.
It was relatively tough to write for this game. That is because the player was disembodied from the events. The perspective was first-person, but the narrative was third-person.
As lead writer, I wrote the overall plotline. Others assisted with idea generation and wrote smaller plotlines. I later edited these to match tonally.
During this project I also served as the project leader. This was ultimately a carryover from it being my concept. As we were all familiar with eachother, we made decisions by consensus. My role as leader was focused on maintaining group cohesion and keeping everyone on the same page. I did frequent check-ins and made sure people always had work, and that it also wasn't overwhelming them.
